UAB presents ALFIE at Festival Inclús, Barcelona

The UAB will present ALFIE at Festival Inclús – Barcelona International Disability Film Festival, an event dedicated to promoting audiovisual works that address functional diversity. The Festival aims to broaden public understanding of disability from new perspectives while fostering accessible audiovisual practices. It also plays a key role in bringing cinema closer to audiences who often encounter barriers to cultural participation.

The Official Selection includes short and feature-length films, both fiction and documentary, as well as awards for audiovisual productions created by organisations in the field. In addition to the screenings, the Festival offers a wide range of parallel activities: talks by collaborating entities, professional audio description workshops, sign language courses, film forums for schools, project showcases, demonstrations of technological innovations related to functional diversity, and even theatre performances by inclusive companies.

This year, ALFIE will be presented in the roundtable “IA, Multilingüisme i Accessibilitat en l’Audiovisual Europeu)” [“AI, Multilingualism and Accessibility in the European Audiovisual Sector”]. The session will explore the role of artificial intelligence in promoting accessibility and enhancing multilingual communication within the European audiovisual landscape.
